They Called us GenX'ers, Cesar Chavez
They called us Gen-Xers, Mr. Chávez—
We were just Dears with the glare in our face,
the Raza, the community, and Youth,
prospective and respective of what ask
our people (whose people?) By HI-Defs:
those in whose faces we see our own Dreams.
That’s what people are good for, their Vision,
Their Insight, their Trust, their Belief. More
Can be done. Yes all can be done and lived
by our Memory as if for the first time
virgins of peace not-touched by hate by rage
by the insistence that we don’t exist,
as once pronounced yb Ana Castillo,
of course. Women en los files de Poesia.
