The Boss Man and His Madame

THE BOSS MAN AND HIS MADAME

I watched the Boss man and his Lady stare
at me. And the others, Board of Trustees
just as hateful they glared at my figure—
this Self made of love between geniuses

denied and deprived. In their solution,
I came forward—a Low Yellow, caramel,
Africanesque and Indian, White, what Else?
For, this is what I felt: The Gaze of males

repeating itself. Breasts a woman won’t make
when Brotherhood is their first loyalty.
Privileged, cruel, stepmother who desecrates
me ethnically, sexually, and ablely,

If we were match made in your Abuses,
aren’t we also conjoined in Verses?
